Neuroplasticity and AI
Your brain is not a hard drive with a fixed capacity. It is constantly rebuilding itself: every time you learn something new, neurons form new connections, and old, unused ones weaken. This process is called neuroplasticity, and it works well into old age.
Traditional learning demands two things from your brain at once: understanding the material and remembering it. This creates a huge cognitive load. AI changes the equation: it takes over storing and retrieving information, freeing your brain for what matters most — making sense, connecting ideas, and applying knowledge.
The key principle of this course: AI is not a search engine or an auto-responder. It is a thinking partner. When you explain your thoughts to AI, ask it questions, and argue with its answers — you activate exactly those neural networks responsible for deep understanding. The brain learns through dialogue, not through consumption.
Research on neuroplasticity shows: the more actively you use knowledge — explaining, applying, connecting it with other ideas — the stronger the myelin sheath on neural fibers becomes. Literally: thinking out loud with AI = physically strengthening neural connections.
But plasticity is different for everyone
One person changes a habit in three weeks, another needs three months — and this is not a matter of willpower. Neuroplasticity unfolds differently depending on how a particular person's nervous system is wired. Psychophysiologists describe stable neurotypes — patterns that determine the speed of forming new connections, response to stress, and through which channel a person best absorbs information: through image, word, action, or social context.
This is not "character" or "temperament" in the everyday sense. It is a biologically determined configuration of the nervous system. When you understand your neurotype — you stop fighting yourself and start working with yourself.
Recall how you usually learn — through reading, through conversation, through practice, through observing others. This is the first key to understanding your neurotype.
Understanding your own neurotype is already thinking like a neurocoach. Choose any topic you have recently studied. Open ChatGPT/Claude and explain this topic as if your conversation partner is a 12-year-old child. Ask the AI to ask you clarifying questions and honestly point out gaps in your explanation. Write down what turned out to be the hardest to explain.
Write to AI: "I want to better understand neuroplasticity. Ask me 5 questions that will help figure out how deeply I understand this concept." Answer each question in your own words. Pay attention: where is the answer confident, and where do you start guessing?
Homework
Make a list of 3-5 topics or skills you want to master in the next 3 months. For each topic, write: what you already know, what you want to learn, and how you will know you have mastered it. Save this list — we will return to it in the final lesson of the course.
